Job summary

Synergi Recruitment in Leicester is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Engineer to join a busy manufacturing facility. You will maintain and improve production equipment, ensuring maximum uptime and supporting site operations.

The role is suitable for engineers with either a mechanical or electrical bias and a proactive approach to maintenance and continuous improvement. Training and career development are highlighted in the package.

Qualifications

• Engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds / BTEC or Apprenticeship).
• 3+ years' experience in manufacturing or process environment.
• Mechanical or electrical bias with understanding of the opposite discipline.
• Experience with pneumatics, hydraulics and electrical systems.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.
• Proactive approach to maintenance and continuous improvement.
• Good communication skills and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM).
• Responding to breakdowns and fault finding.
• Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults.
• Supporting continuous improvement to improve plant reliability and efficiency.
• Maintaining maintenance records through a CMMS system.
• Working closely with production teams to minimise downtime.
• Ensuring all work is completed safely and in line with site procedures.
• Assisting with small projects, equipment upgrades, and site improvements.

Are you a hands-on Maintenance Engineer looking to join a business that genuinely invests in its people, training, and long-term career development?

We are recruiting for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a busy manufacturing facility in Leicester. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with either a mechanical or electrical bias who is looking to develop their skills within a supportive and forward-thinking engineering team.

The Role

As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving the performance of production equipment, ensuring maximum uptime and supporting the operational needs of the site.

• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities.
• Responding to breakdowns and conducting effective fault finding.
• Diagnosing and repairing both mechanical and electrical faults.
• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to improve plant reliability and efficiency.
• Maintaining accurate maintenance records through a CMMS system.
• Working closely with production teams to minimise downtime.
• Ensuring all work is completed safely and in line with site procedures.
• Assisting with small projects, equipment upgrades, and site improvements.

About You

We are interested in speaking with engineers from manufacturing, FMCG, food, packaging, logistics, recycling, automotive, or other fast-paced production environments.

To be successful, you will ideally have:

• A recognised Engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, BTEC or Apprenticeship).
• At least 3 years' experience within a manufacturing or process environment.
• Either a mechanical or electrical bias with a basic understanding of the opposite discipline.
• Experience working with pneumatics, hydraulics and electrical systems.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.
• A proactive approach to maintenance and continuous improvement.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.

Desirable Experience

• FMCG or high-volume manufacturing experience.
• Steam systems, water treatment or utilities knowledge.
• Electrical testing and inspection qualifications.
• Welding and fabrication experience.
• IOSH Managing Safely.
• Continuous improvement or project involvement
