Job summary

OBR GROUP LIMITED is recruiting a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer in London to support a busy food manufacturing operation. You will maintain mechanical, electrical and electronic equipment, perform planned and reactive maintenance, and contribute to reliability and plant performance improvements.

The role offers day or rotating shift patterns, with a salary up to £74,000 and benefits including pension and private medical cover. Experience in automated manufacturing environments is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in a multi-skilled maintenance role within manufacturing.
• Mechanical and electrical maintenance skills.
• Experience in a heavy, automated, continuous-process or similarly complex production environment.
• Knowledge of preventative and predictive maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned, preventive, predictive and reactive maintenance.
• Fault finding across mechanical, electrical and electronic equipment.
• Plan and prioritise maintenance work to support production requirements.
• Complete root cause analysis & implement changes to improve reliability and performance.
• Carry out installations and commissioning.
• Strip down, inspect, repair and rebuild mechanical equipment.
• Remove and refit components during planned maintenance and breakdowns.
• Maintain conveyors and other production equipment, replacing worn parts.

Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer

Location: London

Salary: Up to £74,000

Hours: We have opportunities for both days only positions (Monday to Friday, 7:00am-3:00pm) & rotating shifts.

About the opportunity: We’re recruiting on behalf of a large food manufacturing business who produce a range of food and ingredient products in busy, technically complex manufacturing environments. As a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you’ll help keep production equipment safe, reliable and available. You’ll work across mechanical, electrical and electronic systems, carrying out planned and reactive maintenance and supporting improvements to plant performance.

Working patterns:

There are opportunities across two sites:

• Day shift: Monday to Friday, 7:00am-3:00pm.
• Rotating shifts: Mornings, Afternoons and Nights. (6:00am-2:00pm, 2:00pm-10:00pm, & 10:00pm-6:00am).

Key responsibilities:

• Carry out planned, preventative, predictive and reactive maintenance.
• Fault finding across mechanical, electrical and electronic equipment.
• Plan and prioritise maintenance work to support production requirements.
• Complete root cause analysis & recommend and implement changes to improve reliability and performance.
• Carry out installations and commissioning.
• Strip down, inspect, repair and rebuild mechanical equipment, including pumps, gearboxes, bearings, motors and valves.
• Remove and refit components during planned maintenance, breakdown repairs and equipment overhauls.
• Maintain conveyors and other production equipment, replacing worn parts and completing adjustments as required.
• Keep maintenance records up to date and use systems to support planning and reliability analysis.

About you:

• Experience in a multi-skilled maintenance role within manufacturing.
• Mechanical and electrical maintenance skills.
• Experience in a heavy, automated, continuous-process or similarly complex production environment.
• Knowledge of preventative and predictive maintenance.
• Strong fault-finding skills.
