Job summary

AWD Recruitment Limited is seeking a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer for a stable, UK-based manufacturer. The role focuses on electrical and mechanical maintenance, with emphasis on PLC/HMI fault-finding and safe, reliable operation.

You will join a team supporting machinery, factory services, and new equipment installations, reporting to the Facilities Manager. A three-month probation applies, with opportunities to mentor apprentices and contribute to continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in electrical or multi-skilled discipline (or equivalent).
• Apprentice trained (or equivalent).
• Good mechanical knowledge and experience.
• PLC and HMI experience, including fault finding.
• Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical practices with good diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Focused team player with clear communication and continuous improvement mindset.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventive and reactive maintenance on extrusion lines, injection moulding machines, automated cells, hydraulic presses, conveyors and other equipment.
• Diagnose and repair faults across building services, plant, machinery and PLC/HMI systems.
• Complete electrical installation work for new plant and machinery, including panel wiring.
• Proactively monitor equipment, identify issues and report defects to the Facilities Manager.
• Support departments with electrical and mechanical works and installation of new plant.
• Assist with apprentice training and mentoring.
