Job summary

Our client, a well-established manufacturer, is seeking a Multi Skilled Fitter (mechanical and electrical, mostly mechanical) to assemble their machinery to a high quality standard. You will read mechanical and electrical assembly diagrams, engineering drawings and bills of material, and operate a Lathe or Milling Machine when needed.

You will also perform quality checks and provide guidance to apprentices and other team members.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years' experience as Mechanical Fitter or related assembly role.
• Advanced NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Engineering.
• Experience assembling manufacturing machines / SP machinery preferred.
• Experience using Milling Machine and Lathe.
• Knowledge of pneumatics.

Responsibilities

• Assemble a wide variety of complex machinery.
• Read and interpret diagrams, drawings, BOMs and specifications.
• Operate a Lathe and Milling Machine when needed.
• Perform quality checks and ensure standards.
• Provide training and guidance to apprentices and team members.
• Support the integration of new product lines.

Our client is a well-established and successful manufacturer, they are looking for a skilled Multi Skilled Fitter (mechanical and electrical, mostly mechanical) to assemble their manufactured machinery to a high quality standard.

Salary: £16.00 - £18.00 per hour + Overtime

Hours of work: 40 hours a week, normal day hours, Monday to Friday

PLEASE ONLY APPLY IF YOU MEET THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA:

• At least 3 years' experience as a Mechanical Fitter / Mechanical Engineer / Assembly Operative, preferably in an Engineering background
• Advanced NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant Engineering subject, or Apprentice trained
• Experience of assembling, fitting, or installing Manufacturing Machines / Special Purpose Machinery building experience will be favoured, however other industries building bespoke equipment may also be considered
• You have experience of usuing a Milling Machine and a Lathe
• You have knowlegde of Pneumatics

Responsibilities:

• The assembly of a wide variety of complex machinery
• Read and interpret mechanical and electrical assembly diagrams, engineering drawings, bills of material and specifications
• Operating a Lathe and Milling Machine when needed
• Confirm quality checks have been completed
• Providing training, guidance, and support to apprentices and other members of the assembly team to increase their skills and knowledge base
• Support the integration of new product lines being adopted
