EQUANS is seeking a Multiskilled Technician (Fabric) to work at Tameside General Hospital in Ashton-under-Lyne. This permanent, full-time role offers a 37.5-hour workweek, a competitive salary, and benefits.

Role Overview

Based primarily at Tameside Hospital, the Multiskilled Technician will oversee the maintenance and performance standards of the building's fabric and joinery. The role involves providing guidance on site, ensuring compliant solutions, and delivering excellent customer service. The technician should possess advanced skills in more than one technical area, with a flexible approach to working hours.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver workload according to customer specifications and service agreements.
• Prioritize and resource projects effectively.
• Ensure compliance with health & safety and environmental regulations, maintaining up-to-date knowledge.
• Diagnose faults, commission systems, monitor performance, and identify additional works through PPM programs.
• Work under pressure, take ownership of problems, and resolve them.
• Install, commission, and maintain plant, equipment, and assets.
• Collaborate with fire safety strategies to ensure building element compliance.
• Assist with site inspections, lifecycle, and major refurbishment schemes.
• Manage stock levels by sourcing and purchasing materials.
• Support other technicians to complete PPM and reactive works.
• Maintain a professional appearance and manner, report issues promptly, and develop good working relationships with stakeholders.
• Hold a full driving license.

Qualifications & Experience

• Apprenticeship in Joinery or relevant industry experience preferred.
• Knowledge of risk assessment, health & safety, and safe equipment use.
• Ability to read technical diagrams and work to plans and method statements.

Desirable

• Experience in a PFI healthcare environment.
• Experience with PPM and reactive maintenance.
