Multiskilled Engineer

Letchworth Garden City

Commutable from Baldock, Stevenage, Hitchin, Shefford, Luton

£50,000 + overtime + call out

Monday-Friday (double days)

Our client is a leading food manufacturer with various sites across the UK. Due to continued growth and expansion across the business, they are looking to bring in more engineers onto the double days shift. Training and progression opportunities are available for candidates who are looking to commit to the next step in their careers.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Carry out mainly planned preventative maintenance and servicing schedules.
  • Work as a team, liaising with manufacturing and quality.
  • Provide front line engineering support to all food processing, production & packaging machinery.
  • Carry out both electrical & mechanical fault finding.
  • Work on high-speed food production & packaging machinery, conveyors, automation & controls.
  • Keep machinery working to the designed output efficiency.
  • Regular PPM and scheduled maintenance & improvement works.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Be a multi-skilled maintenance engineer - either electrical or mechanical biased.
  • Must have some hands-on engineering experience.
  • Ideally have worked in food manufacturing.
  • Have a relevant engineering qualification.

PLC - electrical fault-finding skills would be beneficial.
