About the Multi-Skilled Engineer job

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the purpose of your role will be to assist in in all engineering activities - liaising with the internal departments to carry out installation, testing, operation, maintenance and repair of all facilities and equipment.

Key tasks

Maintain all site electrical/mechanical equipment in relation to machinery, buildings, support services and utilities to the required legislative standards, safety, and business requirements.

Reactive maintenance to plant breakdowns and ancillary equipment, limiting production downtime to a minimum and proactive machine maintenance in accordance with the company’s schedule.

Identify areas of improvement and liaise with the engineering team to implement them as well as occasional installation requirements, though the job will be predominantly orientated towards maintaining machinery uptime.

Ensure planned maintenance tasks are carried out in line with the plan, safely, cost-effectively and to agreed standards and timescales, without compromising food safety or health & safety requirements.

About You

Engineering qualification such as an apprenticeship with HNC, ONC or equivalent and Electrical or Mechanical engineering experience in food manufacturing.

Be able to rapidly diagnose and resolve both electrical and mechanical control and instrumentation faults.

Experience in working in a safe working environment and a permit to work, IOSH preferable.

The Multi-Skilled Engineer job (ref:8875) is paying £42,000 - £48,000 according to your experience. This is a fixed term contract for a minimum term of 6 months.

The site is in Kent and is commutable from Paddock Wood, Tonbridge, Pembury, Maidstone, Tunbridge Wells and surrounding towns.

The package includes Outstanding Pension package, Bupa Private Health, Bupa Wellness Cash Plan, MyBenefits flexible benefits, 25 days holiday and bonus.

The working hours are Monday to Friday, 6:00am – 2:00pm & 2:00pm – 10:00pm rotating weekly.
