To ensure all environmental conditions are maintained at all times with regard to critical building systems, the engineer must carry out PPM tasks and reactive/breakdown works on all M&E systems within the site. Candidates should demonstrate relevant knowledge of Air conditioning, UPS, Generators, LV systems, including fault-finding using graphical information and current alarm data.

Key Responsibilities

1. Ensure routine PPM is performed on all mechanical & Electrical plant according to site task schedules and asset lists.
2. Complete reactive tasks promptly and proactively identify areas for improvement, including concessionary stores and fabric-related issues.
3. Manage subcontractors to meet contract requirements, including approvals and safe operations during repairs or services.
4. Operate a Permit to Work System in line with BGIS Quality, Health & Safety procedures and client requirements.
5. Quickly remedy plant faults and defects to maintain operational order.
6. Maintain availability of suitable spares, providing parts lists and time estimates for remedial works.
7. Complete all paperwork related to reactive and breakdown works promptly and pass to the contract administrator.
8. Prepare and utilize Method Statements and Risk Assessments for all tasks to ensure safety.
9. Develop good working relationships with BGIS staff, subcontractors, and client representatives.
10. Ensure a safe and healthy working environment, including wearing PPE and uniforms.
11. Present a professional image of BGIS to clients at all times.
12. Keep plant rooms locked and clean, tidy, and in good condition.
13. Supervise and monitor subcontractor work on site.
14. Complete assigned tasks appropriately and safely.
15. Adhere to H&S policies and procedures in all tasks.
16. Maintain awareness of and compliance with contractual KPIs/SLA’s.
17. Keep the Maximo system updated, closing out PPM and reactive tickets accurately.
18. Operate Permit to Work System per BGIS and client standards.
19. Perform any other tasks assigned by site management.
20. Ensure the engineering team produces near miss reports, risk assessments, and site activity records, escalating non-compliance as needed.
21. Proactively check the operation of the LOTO system according to safety procedures.
22. Monitor and maintain the building’s environmental conditions using the BMS system to ensure acceptable internal conditions.
