Job Description:

I am currently seeking a Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer to join my client’s small, friendly team. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the successful candidate will play a key role in responding swiftly to production breakdowns and delivering planned preventative maintenance on a wide range of poultry processing and packing machinery, including conveyors, module and tray transport systems, plucking equipment, evisceration machinery, tray sealers, flow wrappers, and vacuum sealers.

Key Duties (Mechanically Biased):

1. Maintain high standards of Health & Safety and housekeeping.
2. Adhere to HSE protocols, including Permit to Work, Risk Assessment, Method Statement, Safe System of Work, and Standard Operating Procedures.
3. Follow lock-off procedures to ensure safety on site.
4. Undertake small projects and modifications as required.
5. Quickly assess breakdowns and take appropriate action.
6. Conduct PPM inspections, maintenance, and corrective repairs promptly.
7. Perform general maintenance duties, including lubrication and scheduled tasks.

Experience and Qualifications:

1. NVQ Level 3 (Essential)
2. Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical disciplines (Essential)
3. Aptitude for fault diagnosis and logical thinking (Essential)
4. Ability to read and interpret schematic drawings (Essential)
5. General workshop skills (Essential)
6. Self-organization and self-motivation (Essential)
7. Experience with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) (Desirable)
