We are looking for a talented Multiskilled Emissions Technician to join our team specialising in Facilities for our Engine Business Segment in Darlington.
This is a permanent role working 12-hour shifts, 7.00am – 7.00pm or 7.00pm – 7.00am. First 6 months will be day shift to go through full onboarding and training.
The salary for this role is up to £34,000 dependent on skills and experience. Plus £8,900 per annum shift allowance.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
Outline of the job
· Working proactively to maintain and repair measurement equipment and support systems across multiple areas of the facility.
· Maintaining process capability and reliability to achieve optimum availability of machinery, equipment, related plant, and services.
Responsibilities
· The role involves a combination of primarily responding to measurement equipment breakdowns along with servicing of equipment and ancillary systems.
· Once all emissions measurement equipment is functional, the priority is to aid in supporting the actual engine tests.
· You will be required to work on the 24/7 shift arrangements and, together with the other teams, providing support of the maintenance and breakdown activities.
· The Job holder will be required to work independently and with limited supervision. They will be responsible for prioritising their own work in line with work objectives and make decisions that will increase productivity across the site.
· The role requires the job holder to give particular attention to safety. They must first assess a problem and safety risks before tackling the repair. This involves talking to the employees (managers, operators, or engineers) to understand the nature of the issue.
· Job holders may need to order parts, working with external suppliers to find the best price and quickest delivery time.
