Job summary

Butlin's Conferences & Events in Skegness is seeking an experienced electrician to maintain, repair and ensure the safe operation of electrical systems across the resort, including guest accommodation, leisure facilities and live event venues. You will undertake pre-planned and reactive maintenance, fault diagnosis and breakdown repairs, plus small installations, ensuring projects comply with health and safety guidelines and BS 7671.

Salary £40,000 per year.

Qualifications

• Must have completed an electrical apprenticeship or City & Guilds Level 3 NVQ.
• 18th Edition (Amendment 3) BS 7671 qualified.
• Experience as a qualified electrician in commercial or multi-site environments.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of hospitality/leisure electrical systems desirable.
• Ability to work independently and prioritise workload.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
• Flexible approach to working hours.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair faults on electrical systems, plant and equipment.
• Maintain electrical distribution, lighting, power supplies and control panels.
• Support installation and commissioning of new electrical equipment and upgrades.
• Ensure minimal disruption to guests and operations when completing works.
• Carry out routine safety checks, testing and inspections.
• Maintain records of maintenance, testing and certification.
• Support statutory compliance including emergency lighting, fire alarm interfaces and PAT testing.
• Follow safe systems of work, risk assessments and permit-to-work procedures.
• Respond to emergency call-outs and assist incident response as required.
• Liaise with contractors and oversee electrical works by third parties.
• Support events, entertainments and seasonal attractions with electrical needs.
