We are looking for a Multiple Sclerosis Nurse to work in the provision of community based Multiple Sclerosis services across South East Hampshire. You will work closely to establish the workload and to support the team in providing an efficient, high-quality service within these areas.
As a Band 5 Nurse, you will work through a set of competencies to achieve your MS qualification and develop into a Band 6 Nurse. Please review attached documents.
As a member of our friendly and supportive team you will be working to support the delivery of multiple sclerosis service provision for patients within the community across Fareham, Gosport, Havant, Waterlooville, Petersfield and Hayling Island. The role also entails a high proportion of advice and training for patients alongside other Health and Social Care professionals within the region, acting as a source of specialist advice for local professionals.
The real focus of this role is to work within this busy team to provide education, specialist advice and assessment, which will lead to better individual outcomes and reduce admissions to hospital.
A keen interest in multiple sclerosis (MS) supported by experience of working with patients with MS/neurological conditions would be an advantage. Experience of teaching in any capacity would be essential and some experience of working within the primary care setting is preferred. In return for your skills this post offers a real opportunity for further development in this field of work and as such, as an employer, we would provide regular supervision alongside a detailed, tailored training program (both internal and external) to ensure you have the necessary skills to support the service effectively.
The candidate will need to have excellent interpersonal and communication skills to enable them to work with multiple professional organisations and agencies, whilst having the ability to work autonomously and within a team.
