Vertomcory in Glasgow, Scotland is seeking a Customer Services Operator to manage import and export shipments across air, sea and road freight. You will be the main contact for customers, carriers and agents, coordinating all operational and documentary requirements throughout the shipment lifecycle.

The role requires strong communication, IT literacy (MS Word/Excel/Outlook) and a customer-focused approach to ensure timely, compliant and cost-effective movement of goods in a fast-paced maritime

Qualificações

• Experience in freight forwarding, shipping, or logistics operations.
• Experience handling multimodal freight (air, sea, road).
• Knowledge of import/export processes, shipping docs, and Incoterms.

Responsabilidades

• Manage import/export shipments across air, sea and road freight from booking to delivery.
• Coordinate shipment activities with customers, agents, carriers, hauliers, warehouses and suppliers.
• Prepare and review import/export documentation, customs declarations and shipping records for compliance.
• Monitor shipment progress, identify delays and implement solutions to minimise disruption.
• Provide customers with regular shipment updates and handle enquiries with high service levels.
• Assist in preparing freight quotations and identifying cost-effective transport options.
• Ensure compliance with customs procedures, international trade regulations and company procedures.
• Maintain accurate records in company systems and support reporting requirements.
• Support cross-training and workload balancing within the team for operational resilience.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiency, service quality and customer experience.
