Job Summary

About the role

Are you an experienced photographer/videographer with excellent technical skills and the ability to craft powerful stories through video and photography? Are you organised and meticulous, with the ability to deliver multimedia projects from concept to completion? We’re looking for a Multimedia Content Creator to help us tell the stories of our three hospices. Whether it’s taking a photo, capturing footage or recording one of our expert speakers, the successful candidate will be comfortable gathering material and editing it for a variety of audiences – this could include photography for use on care materials, a powerful video that supports one of our appeals, or a podcast to educate healthcare professionals about palliative care. No two days are the same!

The role-holder will also take responsibility for managing our content library – developing and owning our media management system and media consents processes is a core part of this role, and key to our being able to develop our multimedia capacity across all three hospices and into the future.

This role is 30 hours per week, however 22.5 hours per week would be considered for the right candidate.

Essential criteria

• Experience of photography, videography and video editing in a professional setting, ideally not-for-profit.
• Experience of creating and maintaining Digital Asset Management systems.
• Experience of applying ethical considerations to content management and collection, ensuring the highest standards of media consent.
• Experience of cross-team collaboration and stakeholder engagement – bringing together multiple teams and information to inform a project.

• Working knowledge of photography/videography equipment and standard video/photo editing software e.g. the Adobe suite.
• The ability to deliver a multimedia project from concept to completion, through both direct delivery and working with third parties.
• Strong project management, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• An understanding of GDPR and other relevant legislation as applicable to the management of multimedia content.
• The ability to listen, understand and build on project briefs, delivering content that meets brief and is delivered to deadline.
• Meticulous attention to detail and willingness to deliver the administrative processes necessary to manage our content.
• An understanding of what makes a good story, and ability to apply this when identifying stories and ensuring they are told in a compelling manner.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to build relationships with colleagues and sensitively navigate difficult subjects with patients and their families.
• The ability to manage multiple concurrent activities to deadline.
• The ability to problem-solve and be flexible in the face of unexpected challenges.
• An understanding of video and photography best practice, with a natural curiosity and commitment to staying abreast of industry trends to allow us to continually adapt and innovate.
