Overview

We are seeking a multiclass trading underwriter to join our Commercial Underwriting team. This is a fantastic opportunity to be a part of a growing team with a broker and customer base across the UK, where the person in this role can also be based anywhere in the UK and benefit from Aviva's smart working arrangements, with a mix of home and office working.

A bit about the job: As an Underwriter, you\'ll provide an outstanding service to our customers and brokers. You\'ll drive the success of our New or Existing business teams and play a pivotal role in developing professional relationships, directly contributing to the underwriting profit and loss, trading, and service delivery goals. We are looking for people who want to be part of a dynamic team with a track record of building relationships in the market and winning business.

We also offer support in studying for relevant CII qualifications.

Responsibilities

The role focuses on delivering excellent underwriting service, driving business success, developing professional relationships with brokers and customers, and contributing to underwriting profit and loss, trading, and service delivery goals. The candidate should be part of a dynamic team with a track record of building market relationships and winning business.

Qualifications

• Current or previous Commercial Underwriting experience is essential in either Property & Liability and/or Motor
• Strong communication and negotiation skills; with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Strong organisation and prioritisation skills and ability to manage own workload and work to deadlines
• Demonstrate desire to build knowledge and gain experience in the insurance industry
• Ability to follow processes and procedures and work within set Underwriting Licence frameworks
