Job summary

River Island is seeking a Merchandiser to shape department strategy and drive trading across all channels from its West London head office. You will work closely with Buyers to deliver on sales and margin targets, optimise stock, and develop the merchandising team to realise the brand's commercial ambitions.

The role requires strong analytical and leadership skills, with a focus on sustainable practices and cross-channel collaboration.

Qualifications

• Proven Merchandiser experience, or established Junior Merchandiser
• Experience in an omni-channel business is desirable
• Track record of delivering sales and margin targets

Responsibilities

• Develops the department and category strategy for a multiproduct area
• Grows sales and profit through planning and trading across all channels
• Analyses performance and market data to identify opportunities
• Plans sourcing strategies with Buyers to optimise margins
• Delivers an effective distribution strategy across channels
• Manages stock within planned levels and meets markdown targets
• Leads and develops the merchandising team to achieve objectives
