Job summary

Stark Works | Technical Solutions is seeking a Multi-Utility Tendering Engineer to join our team in Horley, UK. The role focuses on producing accurate, competitive estimates for multi-utility projects across electricity, gas, water and related infrastructure.

You’ll work with Sales, BD, Design Engineers, customers and network operators to develop robust quotations and ensure smooth handover to delivery teams. A technical engineering background and strong commercial acumen are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years in a technical engineering environment or similar role.
• Engineering degree in any discipline.
• Strong knowledge of multi-utility networks (electricity or water preferred).
• Understanding of CDM Regulations 2015 in construction/utilities projects.
• Strong commercial awareness to develop accurate cost estimates.
• Excellent organisational skills with ability to manage high workload and deadlines.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in estimates.
• Good IT skills: Excel, Word, Outlook.
• Experience with estimating/design software such as WinDebut is advantageous.
• Clear, confident communication with customers and stakeholders.
• Proactive, collaborative approach and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate, competitive cost estimates for electricity, gas, water and related infrastructure.
• Review requirements, specs, drawings and site information to develop quotes.
• Collaborate with Sales, BD and Design Engineering to ensure sound tenders.
• Liaise with customers, network operators, contractors and internal teams for data.
• Identify risks, opportunities, assumptions and exclusions in estimates.
• Ensure quotes are accurate and delivered within timescales.
• Stay updated on utility standards, regs and pricing structures.
• Facilitate smooth handover of projects to delivery teams.
• Suggest improvements to estimating processes for accuracy and efficiency.
• Ensure all activity complies with Stark governance and quality standards.
