Job summary

BUUK Infrastructure, part of the BUUK Infrastructure Group, is hiring a Multi Utility Team Assistant (GUC) in Warrington to support installation of gas, water and electrical infrastructure on and off site. You will work in a safety-conscious team, following procedures and reporting to the Project Manager.

The role requires understanding of utilities, readiness for site work, and willingness to participate in standby rotations. Hybrid working is available for eligible positions.

Qualifications

• Experience and qualifications with Gas, Electric, Fibre and Water distribution systems.
• Knowledge of current legislation, standards and codes of practice.

Responsibilities

• Work safely at all times wearing PPE and following safety instructions.
• Install and commission gas, water and electrical infrastructure to high safety and quality standards.
• Accept deliveries and check fitness for purpose of plant and materials.
• Ensure vehicles and equipment are in good condition and report defects.
• Identify contract variations and report to the Project Manager.
• Work to site risk assessments and maintain a safe working environment.
• Attend Toolbox Talks and required training courses.
• Record work details accurately and submit for invoicing on time.
• Perform other duties within the general scope as directed.

Purpose of this role

Installation of Gas, Water & Electrical Infrastructure (On and Off Site Works).

Your Key Responsibilities Are

• Work safely at all times wearing relevant PPE that is supplied.
• Install and commission gas, water and electrical infrastructure as instructed, ensuring that all work is undertaken to a high standard of safety and technical quality by following all appropriate generic and specific method statements, work procedures and safety instructions.
• Accept delivery of plant and materials and check fitness for purpose prior to use.
• Ensure vehicles, plant and equipment remain in good condition, and report any defects to the Project Manager.
• Identify at an early stage all contract variations and report to the Project Manager and work in accordance with the company Variation and Deviations Procedure.
• Work to site specific risk assessments completed by the Team Leader on a daily basis and ensure maintenance of a safe working environment.
• Act as a Competent Person for ROs and NROs (if assessed as competent).
• Attend Toolbox Talks And Other Training Courses As Required.
• Record accurately details of work undertaken.
• Submit relevant work details for recording and invoicing in the required timescale.
• Any other duties as deemed appropriate by the Project Manager that fall within the general experience scope of the individual.

Qualifications

• GN01 for (minimum).
• NRSWA certificate for operatives.
• Water Hygiene.
• DOMS (Water for Scotland).
• Electrical Passport for Cable Laying.
• SHEA Gas, Water & Elec.

Experience/Knowledge

• Experience and/or qualifications as well as having a working knowledge of current Legislation, Technical Standards & Specifications, Codes of Practice and Recommendations relating to all of the following utilities: Gas, Electric, Fibre and Water Distribution Systems.

Desirable

• Machine Excavation up to 10T.
• Dumper.
• Abrassive Wheels.

Conditions of Employment

• You will be required to participate in a standby rota.
