Job summary

Fortus Recruitment Group Limited specialise in recruitment within the repairs and maintenance sector. We are currently working with an established housing provider seeking a highly skilled Multi Trader to join their property maintenance team.

The role covers void refurbishments and responsive repairs across occupied and void properties, with a strong emphasis on high-quality workmanship. You will carry out carpentry, plumbing, plastering, tiling and decorating, manage void refurbishments

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in multi-trade property maintenance, ideally within social housing or a similar residential environment.
• A high level of competence in at least two core trades, with three or more strongly preferred.
• A broad practical skillset across trades such as carpentry, plumbing, plastering and tiling.
• The ability to complete full void property refurbishments independently, with minimal supervision.
• A recognised qualification in at least one relevant trade.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills, with a focus on quality and efficiency.
• A professional and customer-focused approach when working in occupied homes.
• A full UK driving licence with no more than six penalty points.
• The ability to meet the employer's pre-employment screening requirements.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out a wide range of maintenance, repair and refurbishment works across occupied and void properties.
• Undertaking carpentry, plumbing, plastering, tiling and decorating works.
• Managing void refurbishment works from start to finish, ensuring properties are completed to the required standard and ready for reoccupation.
• Completing responsive repairs within occupied properties, maintaining a professional and considerate approach to residents.
• Diagnosing faults and identifying the most effective solutions to deliver quality, first-time fixes.
• Managing workloads effectively to meet deadlines and service requirements.
• Maintaining high standards of workmanship, cleanliness and health and safety across all works.
