Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a similar multi-trade role within the social housing or property maintenance sector.
  • Strong skills in at least 3 core trades (carpentry, plastering, painting, damp/mould treatment).
  • Full UK driving licence – essential.

About the Role

We are currently seeking a skilled and versatile Multi-Trade Operative to join our growing team, delivering high-quality repair and maintenance services within the social housing sector. Working on disrepair cases, you will act as a key part of our responsive maintenance service, attending tenanted and void properties to carry out a broad range of repair works.

This is a client-facing role that requires a strong focus on first-time fix, high standards of workmanship, and excellent customer service. You’ll be working largely independently, aiming to complete as many tasks as possible per visit, to minimise disruption for residents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out multi-trade repairs on disrepair cases including:
    • Basic carpentry (e.g. doors, skirtings, kitchen units)
    • Plaster patching and minor rendering
    • Painting and decorating
    • Mould and damp treatment
  • Complete works to a high standard with minimal supervision
  • Ensure all work is compliant with health and safety and company standards
  • Liaise professionally with tenants, client representatives, and internal teams
  • Accurately complete job reports and timesheets using handheld technology

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a similar multi-trade role within the social housing or property maintenance sector
  • Strong skills in at least 3 core trades (carpentry, plastering, painting, damp/mould treatment)
  • Ability to diagnose and repair a wide range of housing issues
  • Full UK driving licence – essential
  • Good communication skills and a customer-first approach
  • DBS check (or willingness to undergo one)
