Job summary

ITS Property Maintenance seeks a Multi‑Trader to refurbish void properties in Southampton and Portsmouth on a 3‑month temporary basis. Role covers plumbing, tiling, painting, carpentry and kitchen/bathroom upgrades with a 7.30am–5pm schedule. UK driving licence and own van required.

Candidate must have an NVQ Level 2/3 or proven time‑served competence, plus tools (110V) and IT PDA skills. No electrical or gas work involved; strong safety and teamwork ethos essential.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in at least one trade or proof of time‑served competence.
• Experience of void or refurbishment of empty residential properties, preferably in social housing.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Own van (or access to a van) for moving materials.
• Own 110 V power tools and hand tools.
• Basic IT skills; ability to use a PDA.
• Knowledge of SOR codes desirable.
• Extensive knowledge of maintenance repair works.
• Strong problem-solving, decision-making, attention to detail, accountability, initiative, flexibility and adaptability.
• Adherence to company health and safety guidelines and ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Turn around empty properties safely and promptly, delivering a quality finish.
• Perform multi-trade duties including plumbing, tiling, painting and decorating.
• Carry out patch plastering, second‑fix carpentry, kitchen fitting and bathroom upgrades.
• Maintain daily worksheets detailing work completed and materials used.
• Work with schedulers to meet contract SLA delivery and advise supervisors when support is needed.
• Co‑operate with other trades and work efficiently with stakeholders.

Multi‑Trader – Void Refurbishment (Southampton & Portsmouth)

Contract & Location

3‑month temporary role covering PO & SO postcodes.

Pay & Hours

£24 - £25 per hour, 7.30am - 5pm.

Key Responsibilities

• Work with the voids team to turn around empty properties safely and promptly, achieving a finish you can be proud of.
• Perform multi‑trade duties including:
• Like‑for‑like plumbing work
• Tiling (mainly splash backs)
• Painting and decorating
• Patch plastering
• Second‑fix internal carpentry
• Kitchen fitting
• Bathroom upgrades
• General property maintenance
• No electrical or gas work will be undertaken.
• Maintain daily worksheets detailing work completed and materials used.
• Work closely with schedulers and planners to meet contract SLA delivery.
• Advise supervisors on issues requiring support.
• Co‑operate with other trades when needed.
• Work efficiently and productively.
