Build Recruitment are recruiting an experienced Multi Trader to join a reactive maintenance team in North West London. The role covers social housing and council properties, delivering responsive repairs with a focus on first-time fixes and high workmanship.

You will carry out carpentry, plumbing, plastering, tiling and decorating across occupied homes, with opportunities for overtime and a permanent contract. A full UK driving licence and own tools are essential.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 or City & Guilds or equivalent; advantageous.
• Carpentry, Plumbing or other relevant trade qualifications considered.
• Proven experience as a Multi Trader / Multi Skilled Operative.

Responsibilities

• Carry out responsive repairs and day-to-day maintenance in occupied social housing and council properties.
• Perform multi-trade works across carpentry, plumbing, plastering, tiling and decorating.
• Carry out repairs to doors, frames, skirting, architraves, locks and general joinery.
• Undertake basic plumbing tasks including taps, toilets, sinks and pipework; plastering and decorating as needed.

Build Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Multi Trader to join an established reactive maintenance team, carrying out repairs and maintenance across social housing and council properties throughout North West London.

This is a great opportunity for a skilled Multi Trader looking for long-term job security, a permanent contract, company van, fuel card and plenty of overtime and call-out opportunities.

The successful candidate will be responsible for completing a wide range of multi-trade repairs within occupied properties, working directly in tenants' homes and delivering a high standard of workmanship and customer service.

Working Area

The role will cover North West London, working across a local patch of social housing and council properties.

The Role – Multi Trader

You will be responsible for carrying out responsive repairs and day-to-day maintenance within occupied social housing and council properties.

The role will involve assessing repair requirements, diagnosing faults and completing works efficiently, with a focus on quality workmanship and first-time fixes.

Your day-to-day duties will include:

• Carrying out a wide range of responsive repairs and property maintenance.
• Completing multi-trade works across carpentry, plumbing, plastering, tiling and decorating.
• Carrying out repairs to doors, frames, skirting, architraves, locks and general joinery.
• Completing basic plumbing repairs including taps, toilets, sinks, wastes, traps and pipework.
• Carrying out patch plastering, making good and decorating following repairs.
• Completing tiling, grouting and associated bathroom and kitchen repairs.
• Carrying out repairs to kitchens, worktops, units, flooring and other property fixtures.
• Completing repairs following damp, mould and water damage where required.
• Diagnosing repair requirements and identifying suitable repair solutions.
• Carrying out first-time fixes wherever possible.
• Completing jobs within required response times and performance targets.
• Working safely and efficiently within residents' homes.
• Keeping work areas clean and tidy.
• Providing excellent customer service to tenants and residents.
• Updating job information and completing PDA records where required.
• Working independently while maintaining communication with the wider team.

Social Housing Experience

Previous experience working within social housing, housing associations, council properties, local authority maintenance or domestic property repairs would be highly desirable.

You should be comfortable working in occupied homes and understand the importance of:

• Experience working in occupied properties
• Social housing / council / housing association experience preferred
• Good knowledge of reactive maintenance
• Ability to diagnose problems and work independently
• Strong attention to detail
• Good communication and customer service skills
• A professional and reliable approach
• Full UK Driving Licence – essential
• Own tools – desirable

Qualifications

NVQ Level 2, City & Guilds or another relevant trade qualification would be advantageous.

Candidates qualified in Carpentry, Plumbing or another relevant trade with strong multi-trade experience will be considered.
