Job summary

BD Group is seeking a Plumber with multi-trade experience for a temporary posting via Adecco. The role is based in Barking & Dagenham with travel within the borough and a provided vehicle. DBS check and out-of-hours work may be required.

The ideal candidate holds an NVQ Level 2 in Plumbing (or equivalent) and can perform repairs, maintenance and installations while maintaining safety and communication with residents.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Plumbing or City & Guilds (or equivalent).
• Strong repair, maintenance and installation skills in plumbing.
• Experience across at least one additional trade (tiling, plastering, carpentry or general repairs).
• Previous repairs/maintenance in social housing or occupied domestic properties preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform plumbing repairs and maintenance including leaks, drains, fixtures.
• Install new plumbing systems complying with regulations and safety standards.
• Prepare walls/ceilings for plastering, painting and decorating.
• Undertake multi-trade work such as framing baths and fixing panels.
• Respond to emergencies promptly to minimise disruption.
• Maintain records with photos of repairs, installations and inspections.
• Collaborate with other trades and maintenance team members.
• Use PDAs for job monitoring and allocation.
• Ensure work complies with Health & Safety standards.
• Monitor van stock and protect residents' property.
