Multi-Trade Operative - Joiner

Location: Sheffield

Salary: £34,376 - £36,185 per year

Hours: 40 hours per week

We are seeking a skilled Multi-Trade Operative with a diverse skill set to join our team, working on repairs for tenanted properties. The role involves general building repairs including plumbing, carpentry, and plaster patching. It is primarily lone working, with opportunities to collaborate with the wider team as needed. The role includes a company van and power tools, covering areas in South Yorkshire, Nottinghamshire, and Derbyshire.

Role responsibilities include:

  • Attending occupied or void properties to carry out construction, fault fixing, and maintenance duties
  • Resolving problems or initiating solutions, keeping customers informed
  • Maintaining and restocking van stock levels
  • Providing clear and timely updates on work progress to customers
  • Participating in out-of-hours call-out duties

Skills and qualifications required:

  • Qualified or undertaking NVQ Level 2 in a core subject (e.g., carpentry, electrical). For plumbing, Level 3, Unvented G3 Certificate, and Water Regulations (WRAS) are required. Original certification must be presented at interview; copies and CSCS cards are not accepted.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and legislation
  • Experience in remedial plumbing repairs and installations
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and plan ahead
  • A valid UK driving license is required for driving company vehicles
