Job summary

Niyaa People Ltd is seeking a Multi Trade Operative to support refurbishment and maintenance on student accommodation across Birmingham. The role concentrates on plastering work within a college estate, with additional basic trades responsibilities as needed.

You will join a small maintenance team, carrying out tasks to a high standard, in a safe and professional environment. The contract is temporary, with a 6–8 week window and potential extension depending on projects.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification in Plastering.
• Strong plastering experience within domestic or commercial properties.
• Multi-trade experience including plumbing, carpentry, tiling, decorating or general maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out plastering works as part of student accommodation conversion projects
• Completing planned and reactive maintenance across the college estate and local properties
• Undertaking basic plumbing, carpentry, tiling, painting and decorating where required
• Working alongside the existing maintenance team to deliver high-quality repairs
• Maintaining a safe and professional working environment

Join a respected specialist education charity and enjoy consistent Monday to Friday hours, the use of a company van during the working day, weekly pay, and the opportunity to work on a varied portfolio of properties across Birmingham. As a Multi Trade Operative, you’ll play a key role in refurbishment and maintenance projects, with an immediate focus on plastering works within student accommodation.

I’d be keen to speak to anyone who has worked as a Multi Trade Operative, Multi Skilled Operative, Maintenance Operative, Property Maintenance Technician, or Plasterer.

As a Multi Trade Operative, you will be:

• Carrying out plastering works as part of student accommodation conversion projects

• Undertaking basic plumbing, carpentry, tiling, painting and decorating where required

This Multi Trade Operative role is offering the following benefits:

• Temporary contract for approximately 6-8 weeks with potential to continue until the end of August
• 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday
