Multi-Trade Operative

Based at Denmark Road students, Manchester – Covering the Northwest

£34,376 - £36,185 per year

40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 16:30pm

We have an exciting opportunity for a Multi-Trade Operative to join our Voids team based in Manchester. This role involves carrying out repairs to void properties across the Northwest. You may also be asked to cover the responsive team and carry out work in tenanted properties from time to time.

The work will encompass all aspects of general building repairs and maintenance, including plumbing, plastering, mechanism replacements, glazing, and UPVC window and door repairs.

You will also be provided with a company van/fuel card, power tools, and any necessary training.

The role of Multi-Trade Operative will include:

  • Attending void properties to carry out construction, fault fixing and maintenance duties
  • Ensure tools and equipment are maintained in good condition, restocking them as needed
  • Respond positively to complaints and breakdowns in service delivery, by resolving problems or set into motion the means of resolution, ensuring customers are kept informed
  • Providing accurate and timely information on the progress of works to your line manager
  • Participate in the Out of Hours rota, approximately one week every eight weeks

Skills and experiences:

  • To ensure full compliance with Building Safety legislation, candidates applying for this role must be qualified to NVQ Level 2 in a core trade. As part of the interview process, candidates will be required to bring with them the original certification verifying proof of their qualifications. Copies and CSCS cards will not be accepted
  • Awareness of health and safety regulations and working legislation
  • Skills in the following disciplines –Carpentry, Joinery, Kitchen and Bathroom installations, Plumbing, Plastering, wall tiling, vinyl floors, UPVC door and window fitting
  • Working experience of analysing and diagnosing problems and implementing effective solutions
  • This role will involve driving on company business. To drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence
