Qualifications

• For plumbing roles, Level 3 and G3 Certificate required.
• Full valid UK driving licence needed.

Multi-Trade Operative

Ipswich – covering Essex, Suffolk, and Norfolk

£34,376 - £36,185 per year

40 hours per week

We have an opportunity for a Multi-Trade Operative to join our Day-to-Day repairs team in Ipswich. The role involves carrying out repairs to our properties, covering all aspects of general building repairs and maintenance, including doors and windows. It is mainly lone working with opportunities to collaborate with the wider team and share out-of-hours call outs on a rota basis. The role includes a company van and tools, covering sites across Essex, Suffolk, and Norfolk.

The role of Multi-Trade Operative will include:

1. Carrying out construction, fault fixing, and maintenance duties in line with contract specifications.
2. Performing general building repairs, including carpentry, plumbing, tiling, UPVC, etc.
3. Maintaining tools and equipment in good condition and restocking as needed.
4. Responding positively to complaints and breakdowns, resolving problems or initiating resolutions, and keeping customers informed.
5. Providing accurate and timely updates on work progress that are easily understood by customers.

Skills and experiences:

Applicants must be qualified to or undertaking NVQ Level 2 in a core subject (carpentry, electrical). For plumbing roles, Level 3, Unvented - G3 Certificate, and Water Regulations (WRAS) are required. Original certification must be brought to the interview; copies and CSCS cards are not accepted.

Awareness of health and safety regulations and working legislation.

Skills in disciplines such as carpentry, bricklaying, plastering.

Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Ability to prioritize workloads, meet deadlines, and plan ahead.

This role involves driving a company vehicle; candidates must hold a full valid UK driving licence.
