The role

The role will mostly involve plumbing; however, you will be required to undertake the following tasks when needed:

  • Electrical
  • Plumbing (G3 Certificate in unvented hot water)
  • Carpentry
  • Painting and Decorating
  • Plastering repairs
  • Tiling
  • Masonry repairs
  • General building maintenance
  • Grounds work

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Adhering to Health and Safety legislation, ensuring a safe and secure working environment.
  • Being accountable for the quality of maintenance and repair work.
  • Ensuring work meets Unite Students standards.
  • Carrying out dynamic risk assessments and escalating issues as needed.
  • Completing digital job tickets and raising follow-on work orders to comply with policies.
  • Raising maintenance and repair concerns identified during tasks.
What We’re Looking for in You
  • G3 Certificate in unvented hot water
  • Entry-level skills in construction for general duties and minor repairs
  • Relevant post-experience
  • Competence and qualification to operate tools and equipment safely
  • Understanding of Health and Safety responsibilities and safe systems of work
  • Good communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills
  • Ability to work quickly while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
  • Flexibility in working hours and participation in on-call rota
  • Ability to work contracted hours over a 5/7 pattern
