Job Description

Known as Red Tops, our Multi Sports Coaches lead and bring to life fun activities for children aged 8 to 17. Each coach is assigned their own group of 16 children and will lead and support them in various activity sessions, including (but not limited to) football, tennis, badminton, cricket, and swimming — each lasting 30 to 60 minutes.

Multi Sports Coaches report to the Camp Manager and are encouraged to demonstrate ‘Active Coaching’ — providing high-energy, inclusive, and fun activity sessions that get every child active and engaged, regardless of their ability.

Child safety is our top priority. Coaches will supervise children during breaks, participate in swimming sessions, oversee equipment safety, and promptly record incidents. They will also implement behaviour management policies and uphold health and safety standards.

Our venues include some amazing school and university facilities across the UK. We also partner with organizations like the RNRMC, Annington Trust, and the Army Welfare Service, running Kings Camps for children of serving personnel at military establishments. If interested in a residential role, please note this in your application.

Person Specification (flexible)

  • Availability for the full season (Monday to Friday, 8am to 5:30pm), with a minimum of 3 consecutive weeks during summer
  • At least 6 months’ experience working with children aged 5 to 17
  • At least 3 months’ experience coaching sports or delivering active games
  • Vibrant, resilient, team player
  • Flexible and adaptable
  • Level 2 or higher qualification in Primary or Secondary Teaching, Sports Coaching, or Physical Education
  • Paediatric First Aid (training opportunities available)

Kings Active Foundation is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All staff and volunteers are expected to share this commitment to create a safe and nurturing environment.
