Our client is a globally renowned company and a world leader in the supply of rolling bearings, linear technology, and automotive components. At their Peterlee location, they have a fantastic opportunity to join the Engineering team as a Multi-Skilled Technician.

Role Overview

They are seeking a Multi-Skilled Technician to deliver high-quality engineering support, ensuring that plant and machinery are operational and meet production requirements in a cost-effective and timely manner.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate with production leadership to prioritise operational support.
• Provide expert assistance after major safety or quality incidents.
• Offer technical guidance and training to Setter Operators, Trainers, and Maintenance Technicians.
• Handle complex breakdown repairs, including low-voltage electrical issues. This includes Analyse and repair equipment after safety or quality issues, conducting follow-up actions post-servicing, repairs, and maintenance and maintaining accurate machine history records.
• Implement solutions to address “Red Tag” quality concerns.
• Ensure timely, high-quality delivery of product samples.
• Support unit repairs and tooling refurbishment and Instillation and commissioning of new machinery.
• Develop SOPs for technical tasks.
• Request standard spare parts and tooling as needed.
• Promote and follow safety protocols to employees and Contractors.

About You:

• It would be Ideal if you hold aBTEC HNC in Engineering.
• Must hold a recognised apprenticeship (Multi-Skilled, Mechanical, or Electrical).
• Must be proficient in MS Office Packages
• Must have a minimum of three years in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
• Technical Expertise in the following would be Ideal: Strong understanding of manufacturing operations.Skilled in fault-finding and root cause analysis.Hands-on experience with machinery and automation.Familiarity with Total Quality Systems (TS16949) and PLC systems.
