Job summary

Mitie invites applications for a Multi-Skilled Technician role at Russell's Hall Hospital, Dudley. You will deliver estates and maintenance support to sustain a safe, clean, and well-maintained healthcare environment.

The role requires hands-on skills across multiple trades, strong communication, and adherence to health and safety standards. On-site work, 4 on/off shift patterns, and ongoing training are provided to support patient wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Experience in healthcare, facilities management, estates, maintenance, or support service environments.
• Practical maintenance skills across multiple disciplines (basic plumbing, carpentry, painting/ decorating, or general repair).
• Strong communication and customer service skills to support patients, visitors, and colleagues.
• Knowledge of health and safety requirements, infection prevention standards, and safe working practices.
• Basic IT skills and flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Deliver responsive, patient-focused service in a healthcare setting.
• Carry out estates and maintenance duties, assist on planned works, report faults.
• Support patient movement and respond to service requests and incidents.
• Maintain cleanliness, infection control, and safety procedures.
• Conduct equipment checks and store tools and PPE safely.

Multi-Skilled TechnicianLocation & Shift: Russell's Hall Hospital Dudley 4 on 4 off.

Role Responsibilities

• Provide a professional, responsive, and customer-focused service to patients, visitors, and colleagues while supporting a safe and comfortable healthcare environment.
• Carry out a range of estates and maintenance duties including basic repairs, inspections, fault reporting, and assisting specialist contractors during planned works.
• Support patient movement and transportation activities while responding efficiently to service requests, incidents, and emergency situations.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, health and safety, infection control, and compliance with all relevant procedures and risk assessments.
• Conduct equipment checks, maintain accurate records, and ensure tools, equipment, and PPE are used and stored safely at all times.
