Job summary

RG Setsquare is seeking a Multi-Skilled Technician for a busy facilities management site in Greater Manchester. This full-time role (40 hours per week) involves hands-on maintenance across mechanical and electrical systems, with a focus on safety, reliability and compliance.

You will perform planned preventative maintenance, diagnose faults, respond to reactive issues and monitor building systems via a BMS.

Qualifications

• Proven multi-skilled building services maintenance experience.
• Practical knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
• Experience with PPM, reactive maintenance and fault finding.
• Ability to diagnose issues and complete repairs independently.
• Good understanding of health and safety compliance.
• Experience using BMS to monitor and troubleshoot systems (preferred).
• Flexible and proactive approach to maintenance.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

The Opportunity

We are currently recruiting for a Multi-Skilled Technician to join the facilities management team at a busy site in Greater Manchester. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands‑on building services professional with experience across mechanical and electrical maintenance. You will be responsible for carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), responding to reactive faults and ensuring building systems operate safely, efficiently and reliably. Working as part of an established team, you will help maintain essential building services, minimise disruption and ensure all maintenance activities meet the required health and safety and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance across mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems.
• Diagnose faults, identify root causes and complete repairs efficiently.
• Respond to reactive maintenance requests and urgent breakdowns.
• Troubleshoot building services issues to minimise disruption to site operations.
• Monitor and manage building systems using Building Management Systems (BMS).
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with relevant health and safety procedures and statutory requirements.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and report any faults or issues requiring further attention.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and other contractors to ensure effective service delivery.
• Participate in an on‑call rota, approximately one week in every four, responding to emergency maintenance requirements.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Proven experience in multi‑skilled building services maintenance.
• Practical knowledge of both mechanical and electrical systems.
• Experience carrying out PPM, reactive maintenance and fault finding.
• The ability to diagnose technical issues and complete repairs independently.
• A good understanding of health and safety procedures and compliance requirements.
• Ideally, experience using BMS to monitor and troubleshoot building systems.
• A flexible and proactive approach to maintenance.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Willingness to participate in an on‑call rota approximately once every four weeks.
