Job Description

Position: Multi-Skilled Technician

Purpose of the Job

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the Data Centre operations, ensuring all critical and non-critical Facility PPMs are completed as scheduled, and reactive work requests are addressed promptly.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with all CBRE processes and procedures, fulfilling contract requirements and following client procedures.
  • Carry out all Critical Facility PPMs on schedule and complete reactive work requests within SLAs.
  • Perform maintenance in accordance with H&S procedures, using permit to work systems where applicable, and implement improvements identified during inspections.
  • Apply a risk-focused maintenance approach to plant and system operations in data centres/critical environments.
  • Maintain critical client services, including computer rooms, data networks, manufacturing, and revenue-generating services.
  • Provide emergency response standby, respond to outages or emergencies, and escalate issues as necessary.
  • Support technical audits related to critical environments as directed by line management.
  • Maintain records and logs demonstrating maintenance delivery.
  • Supervise contractors when required.
  • Suggest improvements through line management.
  • Coordinate with QHS specialists to ensure audit compliance.
  • Communicate high-priority issues to end users, clients, and management.
  • Enhance service delivery through best practices and effective use of site systems and equipment.
  • Manage own technical training and development, including competency assessments and scenario exercises.
  • Participate in call-out and paid overtime duties.
  • Become a CBRE Authorized Person LV, with potential for HV authorization.
Additional Responsibilities

Perform all work requests promptly, including out-of-hours work and call-outs, with remuneration as per payment schemes.

Accountabilities
  • Report to the Contract Manager and Contract Supervisor.
  • Accountable to CBRE Functional Heads and relevant client contacts.
Experience Required
  • Understanding of Health and Safety requirements and supervision of contractors.
  • Experience in critical change management and critical environment operations.
  • Qualifications: 18th Edition Electrical Wiring Regulations, Electrical City & Guilds; 2391-52 Testing & Inspection is advantageous.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge.
  • Teamwork, customer-facing experience, good communication, and computer literacy.
  • Experience managing subcontractors and permit to work systems.
  • Flexible with workload management.
  • Clean driving license and residence within one hour of the site.
  • Knowledge of Data Centers, emergency response, standby, and call-out protocols.
  • Authorized Person LV certification or experience.
  • Experience with UPS, standby power, and critical cooling systems is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of F-Gas handling is an advantage (not required).
  • Availability for on-call duties with response within one hour SLA.
