Russell Taylor Group is looking for a Multi-Skilled Shift Engineer for a large-scale manufacturing site in Wirral. The role covers hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting, and improving production equipment and facility systems to maximise uptime.

The position operates a 4 on / 4 off shift pattern (2 days, 2 nights). The salary is £51,371 per annum with overtime at enhanced rates on weekends and holidays. Start date is 2026-06-01.

Qualifications

• Hands-on role maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving a wide range of production equipment, site services, and facility systems.
• Work as part of a shift-based engineering team to support production through reactive maintenance and planned preventative maintenance activities.
• Promote and follow all health, safety, and environmental standards.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair equipment faults as part of normal shift activities.
• Respond quickly to production breakdowns and minimise downtime.
• Carry out preventative maintenance activities and routine safety inspections.
• Perform fault-finding and diagnostic work on both planned and reactive maintenance tasks.
• Maintain a variety of production machinery and site services.
• Ensure preventative maintenance schedules are completed effectively.
• Support engineering and continuous improvement projects.
• Produce shift reports and communicate effectively during handovers.
