Job summary

Essential Employment in Camden is seeking a Multi Skilled Engineer with plastering bias to support reactive and planned maintenance across occupied and void properties. The role includes plastering, basic carpentry, tiling, painting, and minor brickwork, with emphasis on safety and high workmanship standards.

You will be diagnosing defects, recording work on mobile devices, liaising with residents and colleagues, and maintaining tools and vehicles as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience across plastering techniques including skimming and rendering.
• Ability to undertake multi-trade works alongside plastering.
• Commitment to health and safety in all tasks.

Responsibilities

• Carry out plastering tasks including skimming, patch repairs, rendering, dry lining, float and set, and ceiling repairs.
• Undertake repairs and maintenance in occupied and void properties.
• Complete multi-trade works including basic carpentry, tiling, painting and decorating, and minor brickwork repairs.
• Diagnose building defects and complete repairs efficiently and effectively.
• Ensure all work meets high standards and health and safety requirements.
• Respond to reactive maintenance requests and support planned improvement programmes.
• Maintain accurate records of completed works using mobile devices or job management systems.
• Liaise with residents, customers, contractors, and colleagues.
• Identify additional repairs and report property issues where necessary.
• Ensure company vehicles, tools, and equipment are maintained and used safely.
