Multi-Skilled PAT Tester

Contract: Full-Time, Permanent
Location: Porton Down, Porton, Salisbury, Wiltshire, SP4 0JQ
Hours: 37.5 hours per week - Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm

Our client is looking for a dedicated Multi-Skilled PAT Tester to join their team at Porton Down and play a vital role in supporting the upkeep and functionality of the DSTL Estate. This is a varied and rewarding position that combines electrical testing with general maintenance tasks across the site. Training will be provided for PAT Testing if required, making it an ideal opportunity for someone looking to develop their skillset in a secure and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Carry out Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) across the estate.
2. Undertake minor plumbing, building repairs, drainage tasks, and general grounds work.
3. Assist with refurbishment projects and both planned and reactive maintenance.
4. Assess repair needs and carry out works with minimal supervision.
5. Conduct risk assessments and ensure all RAMS are completed prior to work commencing.
6. Participate in Toolbox Talks, team briefs, and training sessions.
7. Escort deliveries and tradespeople when required.
8. Support apprentices and maintain effective communication with team members and clients.
9. Accurately record work using electronic and paper-based systems.
10. Maintain van stock and support right-first-time performance improvements.

What You'll Need:

1. Full UK driving licence.
2. Previous experience in multi-trade, maintenance, or construction work.
3. Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions.
4. Comfortable working in all weather conditions and with hand tools.
5. British National status.
6. Eligibility to obtain and maintain Security Clearance at SC level.
