Job summary

Greencore Selby is seeking a Multi-Skilled Operative for day shift. You’ll work on the SMI line and associated equipment, including logopak, spice capper, top tagger and video systems, ensuring smooth production and adherence to safety standards.

You’ll troubleshoot minor issues, mentor new staff, and support QA with data capture. The role requires experience with machinery in manufacturing, strong teamwork, attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the efficient running of the SMI and associated equipment (logopak, spice capper, top tagger, video, pallet stacking)
• Troubleshoot and resolve minor issues (mechanical and procedural)
• Liaise with Area Process Leaders, Line Coordinator, Engineers and Shift Managers
• Ensure correct glass and caps on the line
• Ensure the efficient running of the capper and assist with capper changeovers
• Consider quality, health and safety issues at all times
• Work to the Right First Time ethos
• Trouble shoot and maintain efficiencies with mechanical and procedural understanding
• Work alongside QA
• Complete data capture
• Resolve minor issues (mechanical and procedural)
• Mentor and assist with training of new staff

Job description

This role operates within defined procedures, plans, budgets and programmes. The day to day work is assigned by a manager or supervisor.

Duties in this role include:

• Ensure the efficient running of the SMI and any associated equipment; (logopak, spice capper ,top tagger , video, pallet stacking)
• To troubleshoot and resolve minor issues (mechanical and procedural)
• To liaise with Area Process Leaders, Line Coordinator, Engineers and Shift Managers
• Ensure the correct glass and caps are on the line;
• Ensure the efficient running of the Capper, this includes assisting in or completing a capper changeover when required;
• Consider quality, health and safety issues and the implications at all times;
• Ensure that you work to "Right First Time" ethos;
• Trouble shoot and maintain efficiencies with mechanical and procedural understanding;
• Work along side QA;
• Completing data capture;
• Resolving minor issues, mechanical and procedural;
• Mentoring and assisting with the training of new staff.

Multi-Skilled Operatives - Day Shift, 3 Days out of 7 - Selby, North Yorkshire, YO8 5BJ Permanent - Full-Time Salary: NegotiableShift Pattern: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday - 12 hours shifts (after 6 weeks rotates to Thursday, Friday, Saturday for a further 6 weeks)

Pay rate: 15.60 per hour

Overtime: Paid after 36 hours a week at time and a quarter,
