Job description

Railscape are currently seeking mobile multi-skilled operatives to work on a mixture of reactive and project works across in the Essex/London area.

The position is working on Commercial offices and Operational Railway properties over the London & Anglia region for one of the large Train Operators. You will be working alongside an experienced management team.

This is a maintenance role, and you will be responsible for but not limited to:

  1. Building partition/stud walls
  2. Replacing floorboards and joists
  3. Fitting skirting boards and architraves
  4. General minor plumbing works
  5. General groundworks
  6. Replacing rotten windowsills, assessing roof leaks, and carrying out minor repairs.
  7. Replacing doors and door furniture including locks, hinges, handles, etc.
  8. Decorating
  9. Diagnosing and rectifying faults within requests and providing a conscientious service to the client.
  10. Site supervision
  11. Ensuring that the quality of work always meets the highest possible standards
  12. Supporting all trades to deliver a professional and safe maintenance and repairs service
  13. Responding swiftly to all emergency situations and resolving them efficiently
  14. Enhancements - On-call requirement (1 week in 3)

You will need:

  1. Must be competent in construction skills
  2. Full current driving license
  3. To undertake a pre-employment drug and alcohol and medical examination

Desirable attributes:

  1. A trade-specific qualification minimum NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in a construction specific topic i.e. plumbing, carpentry, etc.
  2. PTS (Personal Track Safety) would be advantageous
