Job summary

VIVO Defence Services seeks a versatile Multi-Skilled Operative to support the UK Defence estate at MOD Kineton and surrounding SDA 14 locations. You will perform a mix of planned preventative maintenance, reactive tasks and minor works across domestic and commercial buildings, ensuring safety and quality across the portfolio.

You will operate mainly on-site, with occasional travel to nearby sites. A full UK driving licence is required, and eligibility for Security Clearance is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance, facilities management, construction or similar environment.
• Able to manage a varied workload across planned and reactive activities.
• Build positive relationships with customers and maintain high health and safety standards.
• City & Guilds or BTEC qualifications are desirable.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain Security Clearance (SC).
• Full UK Driving Licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out legionella flushing, sprinkler testing, inspections and general maintenance works.
• Deliver small billable works including redecoration, lock changes and noticeboard installations.
• Support estate surveys, data collection and assurance checks.
• Provide escorting duties for contractors and visitors when required.
• Work primarily from MOD Kineton with occasional support at SDA 14 locations.
• Maintain high service standards and safety compliance.

About The Role

This is a unique opportunity to become the sole Multi-Skilled Operative supporting the site, giving you the autonomy to manage your own workload while making a genuine impact on the customer experience.

Working primarily from MOD Kineton, with occasional support required at neighbouring sites within SDA 14, you'll undertake a planned schedule of maintenance activities alongside reactive tasks that arise throughout the day. Your work will cover both domestic and commercial buildings and will include a variety of maintenance, compliance and minor works activities.

You’ll be responsible for carrying out tasks such as legionella flushing, sprinkler testing, inspections and general maintenance works, as well as delivering small billable works including redecoration, lock changes and noticeboard installations. You'll also support estate surveys, data collection and assurance checks while ensuring that all work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

The role also involves regular interaction with military personnel, building custodians and end users. At times, you'll provide escorting duties for contractors and visitors, meaning strong communication and customer service skills are just as important as technical ability.

What We're Looking For

We're seeking a practical and proactive individual who enjoys working independently and takes pride in finding solutions. You'll have experience in maintenance, facilities management, construction or a similar environment and will be comfortable managing a varied workload across planned and reactive activities.

You’ll be someone who can build positive relationships with customers, demonstrate a strong commitment to health and safety and consistently deliver excellent service. A background in general building maintenance would be highly beneficial, and practical qualifications such as City & Guilds or BTEC are desirable.

As part of the role, you'll be expected to use smartphones, tablets and Microsoft 365 applications to manage work activities and maintain accurate records.

Due to the nature of the work and the sites you'll be supporting, candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain Security Clearance (SC).

As you’ll be provided a work van and fuel card, a full UK Drivers license is required for this role.
