Job summary

Tarmac is hiring a Multi Skilled Operative for the Southampton site. You will operate fixed and mobile plant, manage weighbridge duties, and assist in achieving daily production targets while maintaining high safety and housekeeping standards.

Experience with wharf/plant environments is beneficial. A full UK driving licence is required, with training provided as needed. Overtime may be available to meet production demands.

Qualifications

• Proven experience driving and operating mobile plant (Loading Shovel, Telehandler).
• Knowledge of aggregate operations and site workflows.
• Good timekeeping and flexibility for site operating requirements.
• Strong communication skills and ability to raise issues to Line Management.
• Full UK manual car driving licence with up to 6 penalty points.

Responsibilities

• Operate both fixed and mobile plant on site.
• Operate the weighbridge and support material deliveries.
• Assist Supervisor with daily/weekly production targets.
• Follow SHE policies and site safety requirements.
• Inspect plant, report defects, and implement remedial actions.
• Maximise plant availability and keep site housekeeping high.
