Job summary

Tarmac is seeking a Multi Skilled Operative for Wellington Sand and Gravel Quarry in Hereford. The role involves supporting daily production targets, maintaining site standards, and assisting with basic maintenance alongside the site fitter.

You’ll be part of a team focused on customer service, quality materials, and on-time deliveries to a varied customer base. Ideal candidates will have plant operational experience, a flexible can-do attitude, and a proactive approach to safety and

Qualifications

• Previous plant operational experience is essential.
• Ability to be flexible and take initiative.
• Driving licence valid in the UK is required.
• Forklift truck licence is desirable; training will be given.

Responsibilities

• All operational activities within a manufacturing environment.
• Conduct inspections on the plant and carry out housekeeping tasks.
• Support maintenance with site fitter on basic operator lead tasks.
• Ensure stocks are replenished and maintained to good levels.
• Deliver high quality material and on-time deliveries to customers.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate for the role of Multi Skilled Operative will have previous plant operational experience.

You will also:

• Be flexible and able to demonstrate a can do attitude
• Possess initiative and be able to think for themselves
• Hold a full UK driving Licence
• Be a team player and an affective communicator
• Ideally to have a forklift truck and loading shovel licence (training will be given to the right candidate)
• Have a good attitude towards Health and Safety and the environment
• Hard working and willing to learn new skills
