Salary up to £39,627 per annum, plus company vehicle & fuel card

We are the largest provider of repairs and maintenance, and regeneration services across the UK. Mears provides tailored rapid-response and planned maintenance services through partnering arrangements with more than 70 local authorities, Arm’s Length Management Organisations, and Housing Associations.

About the Role:

A Multi Skilled Operative within our Tower Hamlets branch will support residents with responsive repairs across our portfolio of properties, working on a planned route. You will be part of a local team undertaking high standard Multi Trade repairs and refurbishment activities to housing properties, delivering excellent customer service and meeting all safety, quality, and cost control standards. You should have a certified core trade, with the ability to deliver additional trade activities to support timely repair and refurbishment works, following standard operating procedures. You will take ownership of construction, fault finding, and maintenance repairs, aiming for first-time completion within budget and time constraints.

  • You will have a certified core trade and the ability to deliver additional trade activities to support timely repair/refurbishment works to a high standard as per standard operating procedures.
  • Take ownership of construction, fault finding, and maintenance repairs, aiming for first-time completion within budget and time.
  • Prioritize customer experience by maintaining a professional manner when communicating with service users, clients, and stakeholders. This includes appearance, company ID, vehicle condition, and adherence to Health & Safety standards. Obtain customer feedback on completion of works where requested.
  • Use a handheld device (PDA) to process all activities electronically, including worksheets, timesheets, photographic evidence, stock replenishment, booking leave, vehicle inspections, safeguarding, risk assessments, and method statements.
  • Maintain company assets in good condition and report damages to your supervisor/manager.
  • Utilize existing stock or collect materials as needed, following standard procedures for purchasing and stock control.
  • Attend meetings and training sessions as required.

Role Criteria:

  • Experience in Plumbing, Painting & Decorating, Carpentry
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • UK full driving license

To drive a Mears vehicle, candidates must be over 21, have held their license for over 3 months, and have fewer than 9 points.

All roles require the entitlement to work in the UK. Mears does not currently sponsor visas.
