ROLE: Multi Skilled Operative

LOCATION: Commutable from Rushden/Higham/Wellingborough/Kettering/Raunds

HOURS OF WORK: Days

BASIC SALARY: £13 - £15 per hour

Company Profile

Our client is seeking a Multi Skilled Operative to join their friendly and family run organisation based in Irthlingborough on a permanent basis. If you are hands-on, practical, and looking to be part of a growing company in the timber construction industry we'd love to hear from you. My client is a well-established manufacturer of high-quality timber frames and is on the lookout for a reliable and skilled Multi Skilled Operative to join their workshop team.

Responsibilities:

  1. Operate saws and cutting equipment to prepare timber components accurately and efficiently.
  2. Measure and cut lengths of timber according to technical drawings and build specifications.
  3. Carry out routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting of machinery to ensure smooth operation.
  4. Safely operate a forklift to load completed orders for dispatch and unload incoming deliveries.
  5. Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment at all times.

To be successful as a Multi Skilled Operative you will have:

  1. Previous experience in a similar workshop or manufacturing environment preferred.
  2. To be mechanically minded and have a general interest in engineering and manufacturing.
  3. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical measurements accurately.
  4. Understanding of machine maintenance and safe workshop practices.
  5. Forklift experience essential (license not required; in-house training given).
  6. A team player with a good work ethic and a proactive attitude.
