Mears Group PLC is looking for a skilled Multi-Skilled Operative in Hastings to join our responsive repairs team. This role involves working on occupied social housing properties, focusing on high-quality repairs with plastering as a core trade.
The ideal candidate will manage repairs independently and ensure properties are safe and finished to a high standard. The role includes a full-time permanent contract, annual salary up to £36,425.30, and company perks including a van and fuel card.

We provide responsive repairs, planned works and cyclical maintenance to over 100 local authorities and housing providers across the UK, partnering with Orbit which manages over 45,000 homes across the Midlands, East Anglia and the South East.
We are looking for a skilled and reliable Multi‑Skilled Operative with strong plastering experience to join our responsive repairs team in Hastings, covering Hastings to Brighton. This hands‑on role involves working across occupied social housing properties, delivering high‑quality repairs with plastering as your core trade and supporting work across other trades as required.
You’ll be completing day‑to‑day repairs following leaks, maintenance works and general wear and tear, ensuring properties are left safe, secure and finished to a high standard. This role suits someone who takes pride in their workmanship, works well independently, and understands the importance of good customer service when working in residents’ homes.
All our roles require candidates to have the entitlement to work within the UK; Mears does not currently offer visa sponsorship.
To drive a Mears vehicle you must be aged over 21, hold your licence for over 3 months and have less than 9 points.
