Multi Skilled Operative

Are you an experienced and dynamic Multi Skilled Operative looking for your next position?

We are currently looking for a Multi Skilled Operative at our asphalt plant in Hayes, Middlesex to work on the day-to-day operations including mixing Asphalt using highly advanced computer-generated programmes, operating the weighbridge, driving mobile plant and other site duties required for the successful operation of the plant.

Main responsibilities:

Reporting directly to the Shift Supervisor, the successful Multi Skilled Operative will be responsible for working alongside the team to achieve the site plan, meeting production demands, ensuring that all stocks are maintained and replenished in good time, along with working to keep housekeeping around site to a high standard.

Your responsibilities in the role of Multi Skilled Operative will include (not exhaustive):

• Working with members of the team to ensure customers receive good quality material and on-time deliveries
• Assisting the Supervisor to meet production targets
• Following SHE policies and procedures
• Ensuring Plant continually conforms with safety requirements
• Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality responsibilities
• Inspections on the plant and acting on defects and implementing remedial action
• Ensuring that plant availability is maximised
• Working to keep housekeeping to a high standard on site

Flexibility and adaptability are key to this role as the site operates on a 24/5 production basis, and overtime is available to meet with the site's production requirements.

The ideal candidate:

The ideal Multi Skilled Operative will possess the following:

• Knowledge of Asphalt / Readymix / RMX Operations or experience working in an industrial manufacturing environment would prove highly beneficial
• Previous experience in mobile and plant operations - highly desirable
• Shovel License – highly desirable
• Good Timekeeping – flexible as to the site's production requirements
• Good Communication skills – bringing problems to the attention of Line Management

Previous experience as a Multi Skilled Operative working in a Plant / Quarry / Heavy / Industrial Manufacturing environment would prove highly beneficial, but this is not essential as training will be given to the right candidate.

The role is based at our Asphalt Plant in Hayes, Middlesex. The site is easily accessible from towns such as West Drayton, Slough, Hounslow, Watford, Twickenham, Stanwell, Northolt, Ealing, Acton, Harrow, Pinner, Ruislip, Gerrards Cross, Northwood, Feltham, Beaconsfield, Maidenhead, Amersham, Stanmore, Rickmansworth and the surrounding areas.
