We are currently looking for a Multi Skilled Operative to join our friendly team based at Tarmac Cloddach Sand & Gravel Quarry, Elgin, near Inverness. The key element of this role is loader operation/static plant operation. The site is easily accessible from Elgin, Forres, Kinloss, Lossiemouth, and surrounding areas.

Main Responsibilities

Reporting to the Section Manager, the role of Multi Skilled Operative is part of a key team producing dry aggregates for the construction industry. Responsibilities include:

1. Operating machinery such as dumpers, loading shovels, forklifts, and blocking operations.
2. Performing daily maintenance of static plant and maintaining high standards of housekeeping.
3. Training on static plant operations to optimize plant performance.
4. Ensuring quality materials and on-time deliveries to customers.
5. Loading shovel (mobile plant) operation – preferred but not essential.
6. Maintaining a culture of zero harm and promoting safety behaviors.
7. Adhering to health and safety measures around the site.
8. Additional duties may be assigned; full training will be provided.

The Ideal Candidate

Candidates should have proven experience, preferably in an aggregates, industrial, or factory environment, as an operative or laborer. Good communication skills and a desire to develop operative and supervisory skills are essential.

Additional qualifications and qualities include:

1. Knowledge of the industry, plant, and quarrying (preferred).
2. Experience as a loader operator/static plant operator (preferred).
3. Flexibility and ability to work effectively within a team.
4. Self-motivated with the ability to motivate others.
5. Knowledge of risk assessments related to the role.
6. Understanding of SSOW (HIRA) and permit systems (preferred).
7. Compliance with company policies, targets, and standards.
8. Good timekeeping and flexible working approach.
9. Effective communication skills.
10. Full UK driving license.
11. IT literacy.
12. Shovel license (preferred).
