Job description

Are you an experienced and dynamic Operative looking for your next position?

As the successful Operative, you will report to the Site Manager and will be responsible for undertaking all site duties safely, understanding CRH and SHE safety. You will also be working in different areas including raw materials, storage, production, dispatch and housekeeping.

Please note that this position requires you to work on a shift pattern of 6am - 2pm, 2pm - 10pm & 10pm - 6am.


Main Responsibilities

On a day to day basis, duties and responsibilities of the Operative will include (not exhaustive):

  • Meeting daily production target requirements
  • Working on the reporting of data for quality purposes
  • Moving, loading and unloading products from the plant and vehicles
  • Meeting customer service requirements in terms of accurate loading and timely vehicle turnaround
  • Working on the continuous improvement of performance standards

Due to the location of the site, it would be beneficial to have your own transport due to shift patterns not being serviceable by public transport.


The Ideal Candidate

The ideal Operative will be able to demonstrate proven experience working within a similar production and despatch environment. Furthermore, if you have experience in any of the following, this would be beneficial in your application.

  • Good communication skills and good numeracy
  • Holding a mobile plant licence for diesel counterbalance forklift truck
  • Strong communication and team player ability
  • Previous experience of manual handling would be a bonus

The role is based at our Swains Park plant inSwadlincote, Derbyshire.The site is easily accessible from Coalville, Loughborough, Lichfield, Cannock, Rugeley, Stafford, Burton Upon Trent, Derby, Castle Donnington, Melton Mowbray, Leicester, Nuneaton, Birmingham, Solihull and the surrounding areas.
