Job description

Fortem Solutions is currently recruiting for a Multi-Skilled Operative to join our new Cambridge Housing Society contract, covering Cambridgeshire. We are seeking someone competent in multiple trades, especially Carpentry and Plumbing. The successful candidate will work within our Voids Team. This is a permanent position with core hours from Monday to Friday, 8am-4:30pm.

The Customer

Our contract with Cambridge Housing Society is launching on April 1st. It is a long-term partnership covering nearly 3,000 properties across Cambridgeshire, primarily in central Cambridge, including houses and flats. We will manage repairs, voids, cyclical works, and planned maintenance.

Duties and Responsibilities

Your responsibilities include:

• Carrying out repairs and maintenance on social housing properties, ensuring high-quality standards.
• Performing additional multi-skilled tasks to complete jobs beyond your core trade.
• Taking ownership of work, aiming for a ‘First Time Fix’ on all jobs.
• Working within budget and time constraints.
• Following health and safety guidelines.
• Staying updated with technical and legal requirements in your skill areas.
• Conducting maintenance and renewal work on properties.

What You Will Need

Essential Criteria:

• Full UK driving licence (no more than 6 points)
• Certificate or NVQ 2 in Bricklaying or equivalent
• Previous bricklaying/building experience
• CSCS H&S Operative Test
• Certificate + CSCS Blue Card
