Job summary

Northampton General Hospital NHS Trust is seeking an Estates Engineering Technician to undertake wide mechanical and electrical building services maintenance, supporting reliable hospital operations and carbon reduction initiatives.

You will perform reactive and planned preventative maintenance, diagnose faults, upgrade systems, and provide on-call/out-of-hours cover on a rota basis, using permits to work and risk assessments to maintain safety.

Responsibilities

• Undertake wide and varied technical maintenance work including reactive and planned preventative maintenance.
• Troubleshoot complex issues and carry out breakdown repairs and upgrades to mechanical and electrical building services.
• Instruct others on maintenance features and related work.
• Provide out of hours call-out cover on a rota basis and support when there are gaps in the on-call rota.
