Job summary

Havebury Homes is seeking a skilled Electrician to carry out electrical repairs and installations across our East Anglia homes. You will be out on the road, diagnosing faults and delivering first-time fixes to residents.

The role offers hybrid working from home and our Bury St Edmunds office, with a starting salary of £43,000 (up to £45,000 as supervisor) and an option to earn up to £8,500 via out-of-hours service. A company van, fuel card and generous benefits are included.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Electrotechnical apprenticeship with end point assessment or recognised equivalent.
• Level 3 Award in BS 7671 18th edition or equivalent.
• Level 3 Award in Periodic Inspection and Testing or equivalent.
• Genuine passion for customer service and clear communication with residents.
• Confident IT skills to use job management software and electronic certification.
• Full, valid UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve electrical faults with emphasis on first-time fixes.
• Communicate scope, timescales and materials for additional works clearly.
• Carry out minor works across related trades as directed.
• Plan and manage workload to meet targets and provide responsive service.
• Maintain van stock levels to ensure materials are available.
• Inspect and test domestic properties in line with current regulations.

You'll be out on the road across the region of East Anglia, making a real difference to people's homes by carrying out expert electrical repairs and installations.

We own and manage c.8,000 homes in the east of England, working closely with other agencies and stakeholders within our communities. We build on the good foundations we have in place in being a customer-centric organisation, investing in our existing homes - including our zero-carbon journey - as well as building new homes.

Outline of key responsibilities...

• Diagnose and resolve electrical faults effectively, with a strong focus on first-time fixes to minimise disruption to residents
• Where additional works are identified, clearly communicate the scope, timescales, and materials required to ensure a smooth customer experience
• Carry out minor works across associated trades as required, or as directed by your line manager
• Plan and manage your workload effectively to meet target timescales and deliver a responsive service
• Maintain appropriate van stock levels to ensure you have the right materials on hand to complete jobs efficiently
• Carry out inspection and testing of domestic properties in line with current regulations

We are looking for someone who has...

• One of the following qualifications: Level 3 Electrotechnical apprenticeships incorporating end point assessment of competence; historical industry-approved apprenticeships or recognised equivalent qualifications; electrotechnical Experienced Worker Assessment (previously known as Mature Candidate Assessment)
• Level 3 Award in the Requirements for Electrical Installations: BS 7671 18th edition (or recognised equivalent)
• Level 3 Award in the Periodic Inspection and Testing of Electrical Installations (or recognised equivalent)
• A genuine passion for delivering excellent customer service, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with residents in their homes
• Confident IT skills, with the ability to use job management software and complete electronic certification
• A full, valid UK driving licence
